Job summary

Curam Care Homes is seeking a Relief Activities Assistant for our Navan Rd, Cabra Dublin 7 location. You will help implement a Meaningful Activity Programme to engage residents of all ages with cognitive or physical impairments in daily life activities.

You will join a team working seven days a week; training is provided for any required programmes. A positive attitude, good IT skills, and strong communication with residents and colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older adults in residential care is advantageous.
• Sonas Programme course is desirable but not essential; training provided.
• A good level of IT skills is expected.
• Familiarity with the EpicCare platform is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the Meaningful Activity Programme within the home.
• Support residents to participate in meaningful activities daily.
• Rostered hours include weekends and Sundays.

We are recruiting a Relief Activities Assistant to join our Navan Rd , Nursing Home , Cabra Dublin 7. The Activities Assistant assists in the implementation of a Meaningful Activity Programme within the home to ensure that all residents can participate in meaningful and life enhancing activities as part of their daily life in residential care. This includes older people with cognitive, physical, sensory and intellectual impairments. This role is part of a team providing Activities to our residents seven days per week so rostered hours would include weekends.

Requirements

• Experience working in Care of the Older Person within a residential care home setting is advantageous.
• Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
• Sonas Programme Course completed is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
• A good level of IT skills.
• Familiarity of EpicCare platform is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents.
• Demonstrable skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts is desirable.
