The Ardmore By Carechoice Finglas Nursing Home is inviting applications for an Activities Coordinator on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging activities for residents and work closely with staff to promote autonomy and well-being.

You will collaborate with residents, family and the care team, maintain the activity calendar, and ensure activities are inclusive, safe and person-centred. Garda vetting is part of the onboarding, with induction training provided.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver activities to suit residents' needs.
• Maintain an activity calendar in advance.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to provide holistic care.
• Provide a broad range of group and individual activities.
• Promote resident autonomy and inclusive practice.
• Report changes in residents' condition to the trained nurse.
• Ensure Health and Safety awareness.

Job description

The Ardmore By Carechoice Finglas Nursing Home have an opportunity for an Activities Coordinator to join our team on a Part-Time basis. The Activities coordinator will report to the Activities Team Supervisor and will be working closely with residents to manage the activities. The role requires someone highly organized, strong communicator, taking an active role in prompting 'person centered best practice' in care of older adults with an emphasis on promoting resident autonomy and inclusive practice.

Job Summary

Plan and deliver activities to suit the needs of the resident.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the nursing staff in providing high-quality holistic care
• Ensuring the activity calendar is planned in advance
• Execution of the action plan in an efficient manner
• Providing a broad range of activities to cater for all needs including both group and individual activities.
• To take a collaborative approach to activity planning; listening to residents, staff and family.
• Reporting any changes in resident's condition to the trained nurse.
• The Activity Leader will be escorting or transferring residents to aid their participation in activities employ manual handling best practice and take direction from the Nursing staff
• Health and Safety Awareness
• Communication and Relationships with all members of staff, Manager, Residents and Families.
• All employees are expected to honour the privacy of the resident. Respect for the individuality, dignity, autonomy and empowerment of the resident must underpin all activities and interactions undertaken during the course of their duties
