Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to report to Producers and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive and self-motivated with adaptability to a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production finances, deliver accurate financial reporting and cost control.
• Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for assigned productions.
• Monitor budgets, flag overspends and communicate risks to Producers.
• Prepare monthly client cost reports with variance analyses.
• Attend client meetings providing financial updates.
• Coordinate tax credit documentation and audit preparations.
• Work with Assistant Accountant to reflect costs in production reports.
• Ensure clear communication on budgets and financial performance.

Job description

We are partnering with a leading creative production company to recruit an Accountant to join its finance team in Dublin city for a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, creative environment, supporting high-profile television productions for international broadcasters. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing production finances, delivering accurate financial reporting, monitoring budgets and working closely with Producers to ensure productions remain on track financially.

The Role

You will be responsible for the financial oversight and reporting of assigned productions, ensuring accurate cost management, forecasting and financial control throughout the production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare regular production cost reports and provide up-to-date forecasts across assigned productions.
• Monitor production budgets, identify potential overspends or underspends, and communicate key financial risks to Producers and relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly client cost reports, including detailed analysis of financial movements and variances.
• Attend monthly client meetings alongside Producers, providing financial updates and responding to queries.
• Prepare supporting documentation for relevant tax credit applications.
• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations for assigned production entities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts up to trial balance, providing detailed commentary on financial movements.
• Coordinate audit preparation and liaise with external auditors throughout the audit process.
• Work closely with the Assistant Accountant to ensure invoices and associated costs are accurately reflected in production cost reports.
• Partner with Producers to ensure clear communication and understanding of production budgets, expenditure and overall financial performance.
• At least 3 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within an SME environment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• A proactive, adaptable and self-motivated approach to work.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
