Job summary

Down Syndrome Ireland is seeking Speech and Language Therapists to join their expanding team of professionals. You will manage a caseload and coordinate and deliver SLT services across branches in Ireland, including collaboration with pre-schools, schools and adult training centres.

The role offers a mix of direct and indirect therapy, with opportunities to work across the lifespan from birth to adulthood and to gain experience with AAC, Lamh, and other communication approaches, under

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Current CORU registration.
• Current IASLT membership.
• A minimum of one year’s experience working as a Speech & Language Therapist.
• Desirable: experience with Down syndrome and/or autism spectrum disorders.
• Desirable: experience with Lamh and other AAC approaches.
• Desirable: Telehealth experience.
• Desirable: Hanen programs and DIR Floortime.
• Desirable: own transport and full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with service users, families, carers and other professionals in goal setting and intervention planning.
• Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of intervention programmes.
• Deliver a range of therapeutic models appropriate to the client population.
• Generate and manage documentation in respect of assessments, diagnoses, intervention plans, and clinical notes.
• Be innovative in the use of resources to maintain and enhance service delivery standards.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools and other service providers.
• Maintain standards of service delivery in line with policy, CORU guidelines and relevant legislation.
