Job summary

Sherlock Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable Skilled General Operative / Groundworker for a civil project in Killarney, Co. Kerry. The role focuses on drainage, pipe laying and general groundworks activities with emphasis on safety and teamwork on-site.

Ideal applicants will have drainage experience, be familiar with manholes, trench preparation and use of basic construction tools. A Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundworks or civil engineering required.
• Drainage and pipe laying experience preferred.
• Able to use basic construction tools and equipment.
• Reliable with strong teamwork and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting groundworkers with underground drainage and pipe laying.
• Installing and positioning drainage pipes.
• Assisting with manholes and inspection chambers.
• Mixing and pouring concrete for bases and surrounds.
• Using a Kango breaker for breaking concrete, kerbs and hardstanding.
• Excavation and trench preparation assistance.
• Backfilling and compacting trenches.
• Loading and unloading materials; keeping site tidy.
