Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cork, Ireland seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to join a newly formed EMEA team under Enterprise Technology Services.

You will own reliability, performance, and scalability across a global Big Data ecosystem, shaping SRE practices and building AIOps capabilities for proactive operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones, define observability standards, and mentor the Cork team as it grows, influencing long-term platform decisions for Apple

Qualifications

• Experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Solid Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Programming and automation in Python, Go, or Bash with AI/ML for IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, performance, and scalability of services in a large-scale Big Data ecosystem.
• Improve observability with dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and defined SLOs/SLIs.
• Build and advance AIOps capabilities (ML-driven alerting, anomaly detection, LLM-assisted tooling).
• Drive automation to reduce toil and improve stability; manage incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to IaC practices and platform architecture decisions.
• Collaborate across global teams and mentor Cork-based engineers.
