Job summary

Avoca Mount Usher in Wicklow seeks an experienced General Manager to own the site, lead all departments and drive commercial performance, people development and customer experience. You will manage the P&L, budgets, forecasts and delivery of revenue and margin, while building a capable management team and upholding Avoca standards.

Focus on safety, compliance, local reporting and seizing commercial opportunities, working with Regional Manager to sustain exceptional service and seasonal peak

Qualifications

• Proven senior leadership experience with responsibility for people, commercial performance, and operations.
• Strong leadership and the ability to build capable, accountable management teams.
• Sound commercial judgement and confidence understanding P&L performance.
• A visible, hands-on style and the ability to lead a complex customer-focused operation.
• Strong planning, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Adaptability and confidence leading change in an evolving business.
• Relevant sector experience or qualifications are welcome but not essential where strong experience and capability are demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire site with hands-on ownership and clear accountability.
• Own the site P&L, budget, forecasts and delivery of revenue, margin, Labour, cost, and profitability targets.
• Build a capable management team, manage performance, and develop succession plans.
• Deliver high customer experience, Avoca brand, and site presentation standards.
• Ensure strong safety, compliance, audit, stock, waste, and loss controls.
• Understand performance drivers and act when results are off plan.
• Create practical routines, controls, and local reporting where systems are limited.
• Identify local commercial opportunities and continuously improve site operations.
• Work with the Regional Manager and Support Office while retaining ownership of site delivery.
• Lead all departments as one business and plan effectively for peak trading and seasonal activity.
