Job summary

GPC - Global Professional Consultants seeks Site Engineers for Cork's leading build contractor, supporting a large project pipeline including hotels, apartments, and warehousing. You will ensure safety, interpret drawings, and lead setting out with Topcon and AutoCAD proficiency.

Role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management degree, 3+ years’ experience, and strong attention to detail. Excellent career development in a growing firm with strong on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong setting out experience and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Topcon equipment and AutoCAD software.
• Excellent knowledge of building regulations and MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specifications and programme to ensure accurate site work.
• Carry out setting out for trades and subcontractors on site.
• Maintain calibration of surveying instruments and manage site records.
• Liaise with foremen and QS; process surveys and submittals.

Job description

Site Engineersrequired to join one of Corks leading Build Contractors. This client has a large pipeline of work in including Hotels, Apartments and Warehousing projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry in an exciting, growing firm. Multiple roles currently available to support their large pipeline of work.

Role

Health and Safety ensuring all of the requirements are adhered to and that safety protocols on site are of the highest possible standard Be fully familiar with all drawings, specifications and the programme of work, ensuring all calculations are accurate Certify the transferral of design information from relevant drawings to the site Ensure that professional setting out for trades and subcontractors is carried out Carry out as-built surveys with processing Carry out valuation surveys and processing-commence surveys and process figures according to QS requests and site conditions Control and care of all surveying equipment and instruments, keeping the calibration register up to date Disseminate information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, ensuring they clearly understand what is required Ensure work performed and materials used are in full compliance with drawings and specifications Ensure the post pours/works are carried out to the highest level as required for the project Complete and manage all appropriate quality documentation (check sheets, as built drawings etc) to the highest standard ensuring archiving is completed correctly Schedule steel reinforcement and other materials requisitions as required Assist in the requisitioning of plant and the control of equipment on site Ensure daily records are kept and uploaded to relevant project management software Advise on submittals and research alternative options where possible

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering/Construction Management or similar
• Valid Safe Pass
• 3 years+ experience in a similar role is desirable
• Strong setting out experience
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Strong understanding the key elements of engineering work; site-setting out, day-to-day surveys, as-built drawings etc.
• Proficient in the use of Topcon
• Proficient in the use of Auto-cad
• Good knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook

Salary

Salary Salary circa €65k - €80k DOE
