Job summary

Murphy International Limited is seeking a Site Engineer to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team around Dublin. You will support site setting-out, review designs, and promote safety across the project.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate temporary works, and ensure quality checks align with project procedures. The role requires strong communication with management, clients, and the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • CSCS Card is required.
  • Minimum 3 years in civil engineering projects.
  • Experience producing safe systems of work and interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Promote health, safety and environmental standards with SHQE team.
  • Ensure accurate setting-out methods are implemented on site.
  • Review drawings and specs for completeness and request missing info promptly.
  • Carry out quality checks per company/project procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with foremen and supervisors on technical information.
  • Support and mentor assistant/graduate/junior engineers.
  • Assist in development and coordination of temporary works design schemes.
  • Identify and develop key staff within the team.
  • Monitor site activities to address unsafe conditions and ensure policy compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, designers, project team and supply chain.
  • Support material/plant requisitions and RAMS prep.
  • Maintain daily site records and communicate commercial issues to the team.

Job Title: Site Engineer | Dublin Murphy is recruiting for a Site Engineer to work with our Transportation & Infrastructure team on projects in and around Dublin. What you will be doing:
  • Promote best practice in health, safety and environmental standards with the SHQE team.

  • Maintain accurate daily site records and ensure inspection and test plans are completed, while communicating commercial issues to the commercial team.
Who we are looking for:
  • CSCS Card - All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards.
  • At least 3 years, proven experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
  • Proven experience/training with all the latest surveying/CAD techniques.
  • Ability to use setting out equipment including total station and reading of drawings and specification documents.
  • Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Management, clients and public.
  • An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking a large scale construction project.
  • Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of current civil engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
