Job summary

GPC - Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Site Agent - Structures for a major road project in Ireland. The role requires strong leadership to coordinate site activities, manage foremen, engineers and subcontractors, and ensure targets for safety, cost, and schedule are met.

The successful candidate will oversee site teams, liaise with clients and designers, review technical documentation, and drive value through cost control and efficient planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience.
• Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects (roads/rail/bridges).
• Ability to lead foremen, engineers and subcontractors.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Role

• Manage and coordinate all site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Lead and supervise site teams, including foremen, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient allocation of labour, plant and materials.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) requirements and company procedures.
• Drive commercial performance by managing project costs, maximising value, identifying value engineering opportunities, and maintaining accurate site records.
• Liaise effectively with clients, designers, stakeholders, and the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Review and coordinate technical documentation, drawings, and construction methodologies to support efficient project execution.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining productivity, programme targets, and quality standards.
• Contribute to project planning, progress reporting, and overall project delivery.

Requirements
