Job summary

Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Tuam, Co. Galway invites applications for a permanent part-time Shop Assistant (20 hours/week) to join Vincent's Tuam retail team. You will help run the shop day-to-day, uphold standards and drive sales with friendly customer service.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years retail experience, preferably in the community or voluntary sector, and a Leaving Certificate. You should be flexible and team‑minded, with a positive approach to helping people.

Qualifications

• 2 years retail experience, ideally some of which will have been gained in the community / voluntary sector.
• Education to leaving certificate standard.
• Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values.
• Experience in a customer facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day running of the SVP shop, maintaining standards and achieving sales through effective sales techniques.
• Contribute to the sustainable profitability of the shop.
• Provide cover for the Shop Manager when required.
• Support the West Retail team in Vincent's Tuam, Co. Galway.

Location: Tuam, Co. Galway

Salary range: €16,016 per annum; paid monthly

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Shop Assistant(Permanent Part Time - 20 hours per week) to join our West Retail team in Vincent's Tuam - Co. Galway. The post holder will have responsibility for assisting in the day to day running of the SVP shop, maintaining standards and achieving sales through effective sales techniques and contributing to the sustainable profitability of the shop.This is a great opportunity to join one of Ireland’s largest voluntary organisations and make a difference in your community.
