Job summary

Focus Ireland in Clonmel is seeking a Social Care Leader for the Under 18's Residential Service at The Haven. You will play a key part in creating a safe, supportive environment for young people aged 15-18 living in short-term residential care, guiding and supporting the team on a daily basis.

The role requires CORU qualification and two years' experience in children's residences, knowledge of HIQA standards, and the ability to manage crises.

Qualifications

• CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and CORU registration application submitted.
• Minimum of 2 years' full-time experience in a children’s residential setting.
• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
• Ability to support and manage teenagers in crisis.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Desirable: knowledge of Child Protection and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with Social Care Workers and ensure tasks are carried out by the team.
• Maintain records and attend team and agency meetings.
• Assist in administration and day-to-day operation.
• Co-operate with external monitoring and implement recommendations.
• Observe Health, Safety and Welfare at Work regulations.
• Participate in a 7-day, 24-hour roster.
