Job summary

Focus Ireland in Clonmel, County Tipperary, is seeking a Social Care Leader for the Under 18's Residential Service. Candidates will lead a shift, provide a safe home-like environment, and ensure staff carry out tasks professionally within a 7-day roster.

Applicants must hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification with CORU registration in process and have at least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting. Strong written communication is essential.

Qualifications

• CORU approved qualification required and CORU registration application evidence ASAP.
• Minimum 2 years full-time work experience in a children’s residential setting.
• Understanding of HIQA National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
• Ability to manage adolescents in crisis and uphold safeguarding.
• Good written communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with Social Care Workers and ensure tasks are carried out competently and professionally.
• Provide a safe, home-like environment for residents aged 15-18.
• Record and maintain project and client records in line with statutory requirements.
• Co-operate with external monitoring, inspections, and implement recommendations.
• Attend team, review, and agency meetings as required.
