Job summary

Bretland is seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead site safety, environmental compliance and training initiatives. The role involves planning, implementing and monitoring ISO 45001/14001 within the integrated management system across projects.

You will conduct inspections, audits, inductions and incident investigations to drive continuous improvement. The position requires coordinating with site management, ensuring compliance with permits and safety documentation, and

Responsibilities

• Support Site management with planning, coordinating and implementing Health Safety & Training policies.
• Provide support to Management and Operations in safety, occupational health and environmental issues.
• Oversee ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementations within the Integrated Management System.
• Perform regular Health and Safety inspections and audits; report findings to site management.
• Advise and guide management on health and safety matters; draft method statements and toolbox talks.
• Ensure permits, GA1/GA3 forms are completed and filed correctly.
• Deliver health and safety induction for new employees and check inductions across projects.
• Investigate incidents; close out Accident Investigation Reports and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain safety records, training certificates and equipment certification.
• Update and maintain PPE records, stock and equipment in stores.
• Attend management meetings to report on Company Health & Safety.
• Organise servicing and re-certification for safety equipment and lifting gear.
• Review and update Company Safety Statement, policies and GDPR-compliant site induction forms.
