Job summary

Actavo Group in Ireland is seeking a dedicated SHEQ Advisor to maintain and implement health, safety, environmental and quality controls across projects. You will ensure compliance with ISO standards and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.

The role covers training, incident investigations, risk assessments and the development of safety plans, with opportunities for professional development and progression within the division.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years SHEQ Advisor experience in civils/construction.
• Experience with public works projects or public sector frameworks desirable.
• Hold a recognised Train the Trainer qualification.
• Hold a recognised Level 7/8 SHEQ qualification.
• IOSH membership or equivalent professional body desirable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work.
• Work with the various departments across the business to ensure company compliance.
• Monitor and support the implementation and operation of the Integrated Management System (ISO 45001/9001/14001/50001) and related certifications.
• Compile and provide SHEQ documentation to support operations and projects.
• Serve as SHEQ point of contact for PSCS activities on projects.
• Prepare and deliver SHEQ training courses including assessments.
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external use.
• Prepare Safety & Environmental Plans for projects aligned with client and Actavo targets.
• Develop and maintain divisional SHEQ policies and procedures.
• Provide safety/environmental reports to departments as required.
• Conduct SHEQ audits and manage the audit tracker.

Job description

You will be responsible for maintaining and implementing safety, health, environmental and quality controls and procedures within the Division ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work

• Work with the various departments across the business to ensure company compliance

• Monitor and support the implementation and operation of the Integrated Management System covering ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards along with other industry specific certifications / accreditations

• Compile and provide SHEQ documentation to support the operation of the business and projects

• SHEQ point of contact for PSCS activities on projects

• Prepare and deliver SHEQ training courses including conducting training assessments

• Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes

• Prepare Safety & Environmental Plans for various projects in line with client and Actavo’s targets

• Development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of Divisional specific SHEQ policies and procedures

• Ensure the provision of all safety and environmental reports as and when required to the respective departments/areas

• Conduct SHEQ audits including the management and maintenance of the audit tracker

• Daily and weekly reporting to Management including maintaining the various SHEQ registers

• Carry out regular risk assessments and site inspections

• Provide advice and direction to staff and continuously promote a positive Health and Safety culture within the business

• Interact with regulatory bodies, partners and external bodies

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years SHEQ Advisor experience preferably in civils, utilities, construction, roads, reinstatement or infrastructure environments

• Experience supporting public works projects, local authority contracts or public sector frameworks would be desirable

• Hold a recognised train the trainer qualification

• Hold a recognised SHEQ qualification (Level 7/8)

• LUGS and/or SLG Card holder would be an advantage

• ISO Internal Auditor experience as an advantage

• Member of IOSH or similar professional body.
