Dbsearch in Limerick, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join its HSQE team. The role is based in the Midwest office with frequent site travel to support civil engineering and utilities projects and promote a strong safety culture.

You will maintain policies, prepare risk assessments, lead investigations, and coordinate training while liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure compliance with Irish legislation and best practices.

Qualifications

Safety Advisor – Limerick – Roaming Role

Senior Health & Safety Advisor Limerick with travel to sites
Due to continued growth and the award of new contracts, a utility & civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join an expanding HSQE team.
The role can be based from the Midwest office in Limerick, with frequent travel to sites within commutable distance. This is a key position supporting the safe delivery of civil engineering and utilities projects, working closely with project teams, site management and client stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain and implement health, safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and management systems.


• Prepare and communicate method statements, Safe Plans of Action, toolbox talks, risk assessments and health and safety plans.


• Provide practical HSQE advice and guidance to management, site teams, safety representatives, employees and subcontractors.


• Coordinate health and safety training, inductions and records for employees, agency personnel and subcontractors.


• Carry out regular site inspections and audits, report findings and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.


• Lead accident and incident reporting and investigations, identifying root causes and implementing controls to prevent recurrence.


• Compile safety file information, support project handover and contribute to health and safety tender documentation.


• Manage EHS Insight, ensuring documentation, safety statistics and reporting requirements are accurate and up to date.


• Deliver group HSQE initiatives, SOPs and continuous improvement actions across assigned project teams.


• Liaise with clients, external stakeholders, the EPA, HSA, RSA and other relevant public bodies to maintain compliance across site operations.


• Experience in a similar role, preferably within utilities, civils or main contracting.


• Relevant health and safety qualification.


• Strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.


• Full clean manual driving licence and willingness to travel as required.


• Excellent written and verbal communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.


• Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills.


• Experience in gap analysis and implementing practical improvements.


• Flexible, proactive and comfortable supporting teams across multiple sites.


• Motivated, diligent and committed to maintaining high safety standards.


• Proficient in English and eligible to work in Ireland.
