Job summary

Schneider Electric Ireland Service Team is seeking a Service Engineer to provide maintenance, fault diagnosis and lifecycle services for MV & LV equipment at a fixed customer location. You will ensure reliability, safety and performance of installed electrical distribution systems in line with Schneider Electric standards.

Typical duties include preventive and corrective maintenance, asset management, and supporting customer operations while developing strong relationships and promoting service

Power Systems Division – Service Engineer - internal job title (Generalist Service Representative II)

Working as part of the Schneider Electric Ireland Service Team, you will provide maintenance, operational support, fault diagnosis and lifecycle services for MV & LV equipment at a fixed customer location. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability, safety and performance of installed electrical distribution systems in accordance with Schneider Electric standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines.

Typical work includes routine preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, technical fault finding, asset management activities and customer support. The position does not involve project delivery, installation projects or commissioning activities.

You will deliver high-quality customer service supported by the wider Schneider Electric Ireland teams while maintaining strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for the maintenance and operation of electrical distribution systems at a fixed customer location.
• Perform the following activities on Schneider Electric power distribution equipment.
• Routine preventive maintenance.
• Corrective maintenance and repairs.
• System inspections and condition assessments.
• Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Modifications and upgrades to existing installed equipment.
• Asset management and lifecycle support services.
• Supervise contractor activities where required.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain technical best practices.
• Document maintenance activities, inspection findings and equipment reports.
• Perform site risk assessments and contribute to the development of safe systems of work and method statements.
• Promote Schneider Electric service offerings and assist in identifying opportunities to enhance customer asset performance.
• Support customer operational and maintenance training activities as required.

Skills & Abilities

• Experience with MV & LV distribution systems.
• A solid understanding of power and control systems.
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite, standard operating systems and associated peripherals
• Must hold a clean & valid driving license as a company vehicle will be provided.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with employees and customers in a professional manner, both in person and via telephone and with a strong focus on managing customer relationships.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety and environmental requirements.
• Be willing to learn on the job & in classroom with ability to apply engineering knowledge within related disciplines

For this Ireland based position, the expected pay range is EUR 52,800 - EUR 79,200 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the Ireland. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
