Job summary

Egis in Ireland seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead water and wastewater infrastructure design. Hybrid base options include Dublin, Castlebar, Limerick or Cork, with strong project leadership across feasibility to construction.

Role requires chartership status or near it and extensive experience delivering water projects, plus ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and liaise with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or close to achieving chartership.
• Minimum 8–10 years' relevant experience in structural engineering.
• Proven experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Experience with Uisce Éireann, local authorities, or water contractors.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Understanding of construction methodologies and buildability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Deliver feasibility studies, option assessments, and detailed designs.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, specs, drawings, and tender docs.
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical interfaces.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams and project programmes.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
