Job summary

Egis Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Water Services team. You will lead structural design for water and wastewater projects from feasibility through detailed design, with hybrid work across Ireland.

The role requires Chartered status or near chartership, 8–10 years in structural engineering, and proven delivery of water infrastructure. You will mentor juniors and coordinate multi‑disciplinary interfaces to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered Engineer status (or near chartership).
8-10 years' relevant experience in structural engineering.
Proven experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Multidisciplinary project management experience.
Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design.
Experience with projects for Uisce Éireann or water utilities.
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
Know-how of construction methodologies and buildability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Full driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from feasibility to detailed design.
Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces to achieve integrated design solutions.
Manage project programmes, resources and budgets.
Liaise with clients, regulators and contractors; support procurement and tender activities.
Provide technical reviews and quality assurance on deliverables.
Mentor and develop junior engineers.
