Job summary

Uisce Éireann in Ireland is seeking a Water Network Maintenance and Repair Senior Operative to lead day-to-day operations of the water network. You will supervise planned and reactive maintenance, respond to alarms, oversee meter work, and ensure health and safety compliance across teams.

This on-site role requires a plumbing qualification (preferable), a valid Irish driving licence, and at least two years' relevant experience, with strong problem-solving and customer-service focus.

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum two years relevant experience working in a similar role.
• Plumbing qualification preferable.
• Full, clean and valid Irish category B driving licence is minimum requirement. C licence is desirable.
• We work better together- previous experience of supervising or managing teams working in health and safety culture preferred and in a water or wastewater networks environment an advantage.
• We keep each other safe - experience/understanding of working within a strong health & safety culture
• Knowledge of the water network, infrastructure and operations is an advantage.
• Experience of using IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the planned and reactive maintenance and repair activities across the water network infrastructure in a safe and hygienic manner, including repairs of bursts and leaks and maintenance of meters and fittings.
• Ensure prompt response to alarms, provide emergency cover and resolve incidents on water network assets.
• Supervise non-domestic water meter maintenance, including site investigations and meter replacements.
• Lead teams to inform customers of issues and resolutions and manage escalated complaints to ensure consistent service.
• Oversee data recording and reporting of field activities and update HS records and inventories.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and perform risk assessments and PPE usage.
