Job summary

Uisce Éireann in Ireland is seeking a Wastewater Network Senior Operator to support the operation and maintenance of the wastewater network. You will provide day-to-day leadership to teams, ensure safe operation, regulatory compliance, and timely response to incidents.

Reporting to the Wastewater Network Operations Team Lead, you will supervise field crews, manage maintenance tasks, and collaborate with customer service and external contractors to deliver reliable water services to communities.

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum two years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Full, clean Irish category B driving licence.
• Experience supervising or managing teams in health and safety culture preferred.
• Knowledge of wastewater network operations is an advantage.
• Experience using IT systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to work in hazardous environments with health assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operation of water/wastewater network and oversee maintenance activities.
• Operate vehicles including 3.5+ tonne; may operate 20 tonne vactor.
• Monitor chemical dosing and support compliance/sampling teams.
• Inform customers about issues; handle escalated complaints.
• Support Customer teams with issues affecting service.
• Record and report information in the systems and log investigations.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and PPE used.
• Drive efficiency and training development for teams.
• Provide cover for other water operations teams as needed.
• Coordinate with third parties/contractors and issue permits.
• Engage with stakeholders such as landowners and internal teams.
