Job summary

Uisce Éireann is Ireland’s national water utility, delivering water and wastewater services with a focus on safety and reliability. The Wastewater Treatment Maintenance Senior Operative will cover a geographic area, delivering planned and reactive maintenance, including electrical and mechanical tasks and out-of-hours work as required.

The role emphasizes adherence to health and safety, use of risk-based maintenance methods, and collaboration with third parties.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 6 in relevant craft; maintenance and electrical knowledge are essential.
• Experience with pumps, motors and valves is advantageous.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Support wastewater treatment maintenance using mechanical and/or electrical craft skills.
• Perform mechanical tasks: pump maintenance, parts replacement, alignment and testing.
• Carry out electrical tasks including fault finding, motor maintenance and instrumentation calibration.
• Record data and complete work orders using handheld devices and IT systems.
• Mentor team members and supervise safe working practices on site.
