Job summary
TE Connectivity seeks a Visual Inspection Automation Engineer to design and implement automated visual inspection solutions for medical products in Galway. The role focuses on detecting cosmetic, dimensional, and functional defects using machine vision and AI-based inspection technologies to ensure consistent product quality.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mech, ECE, Mechatronics, Automation) required.
- 5+ years in automated visual inspection or machine vision.
- Experience with regulated/high-volume manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated visual inspection systems for defect detection.
- Select and integrate cameras, lighting, and vision controllers.
- Develop and optimize vision algorithms using rule-based and AI approaches.
- Perform feasibility studies and POCs.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, NPD teams.
- Support NPI by defining inspection strategies.
- Troubleshoot vision system issues across hardware and software.
- Travel up to 20%.
