Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team. You will help shape the direction of our search capabilities, build new features, and push the boundaries of speed and relevance.

You will collaborate with engineers across continents, implement novel algorithms, and contribute to the core Java stack with a focus on scalable, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• Experience with vector similarity on large-scale search platforms.
• Proficiency with search/vector databases and relevant algorithms (HNSW, IVF).
• Strong Java core skills and knowledge of concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to build industry-leading search with speed and relevance.
• Contribute to Elasticsearch features, fix bugs, and design new algorithms or data structures.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team on vector search capabilities.
