Elevate Partners seeks a senior trader to design and lead a European Equity Options market-making desk from the ground up. You will collaborate with the Head of Trading to define strategy, adapt existing tools, and drive the build of new analytics and trading workflows.

You will manage a team of traders, optimize desk risk within approved parameters, and develop relationships with external counterparties while reporting to senior leadership in a flat, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified with considerable hands-on trading experience, ideally in derivatives.
• Natural trading ability and strong commercial judgement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas to different audiences.
• Highly numerate and IT literate, and a genuine team player.

Elevate Partners are currently working with a leading global options market maker on a senior hire to build and lead a new European Equity Options market-making desk. It’s a rare chance to shape a desk from the ground up within an established, well-capitalised trading firm.

The role

• Partner with the Head of Trading to design the strategy and approach for a new Single Stock Options desk, adapting existing proprietary tools and helping build new ones
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of traders in a fast-moving environment
• Manage desk positions within agreed risk parameters, optimising the use of trading capital while working closely with the risk team
• Build strong relationships internally and externally, and share market insight proactively
• Set priorities and goals, build consensus, and manage the desk’s direction

The requirements

• Degree-qualified, with considerable hands‑on trading experience, ideally in derivatives
• A clear vision for the future of equity options market making
• Natural trading ability, strong commercial judgement and technical depth
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to different audiences
