Job summary

Uniphar Group in Dublin seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and secure critical IT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and networking components, ensuring high availability and performance.

You will monitor health and capacity, troubleshoot issues, and drive patching/upgrades. The role requires scripting in PowerShell, disaster recovery planning, and strong cybersecurity practices in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows systems.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with networking and diagnosing TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.
• Hands-on scripting using PowerShell.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and security management (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with strong time management skills.
• Participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support on-premises and cloud-based systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software, including servers, storage, and networking components.
• Ensure the stability, security, and performance of IT infrastructure across multiple platforms.
• Monitor systems' health, performance, and capacity.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Proactively manage patching and upgrades to minimise disruptions.
• Liaise with vendors to plan upgrades to managed firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools.
• Develop scripts and automation processes for system administration tasks using PowerShell.
• Provide support for escalated issues and collaborate with developers and IT staff.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for IT staff and end-users.
