Job summary

You will guide major transformation programmes, define standards, and govern APIs, event-driven architecture, and data integration. Collaboration with offshore teams and senior leadership is expected.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior architect to play a key role in shaping architecture across a complex, multi-platform technology environment.

The role has a strong focus on enterprise integration, but offers the opportunity to work broadly across technology architecture, solution design and strategic transformation.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide architecture leadership across major transformation and technology programmes, from strategic design through to delivery.
• Define and evolve architecture principles, standards, patterns and reference architectures, with a particular focus on integration and interoperability.
• Design and govern complex technology solutions spanning APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging, ETL/ELT and service-based integration.
• Guide engineering and delivery teams in selecting appropriate architectural and integration approaches for A2A, B2B and streaming solutions.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and technology leadership to align solution architecture and integration strategy with wider IT objectives.
• Provide technical assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring architectural intent is maintained through design, development and implementation.
• Contribute to technology assessments, vendor selection and strategic technology decisions.
• Establish reusable patterns and standards that improve consistency, scalability, resilience and delivery efficiency.
• Develop architectural capability through knowledge sharing, technical mentoring and collaboration with engineering and delivery teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and architectural practices, including the evolving impact of AI on application, integration and data architecture.
• Take a pragmatic, hands-on approach when required, supporting teams with technical design, development and testing.

Experience & Technical Expertise

You will bring:

• Significant experience in technology architecture, solution architecture, technical architecture or enterprise systems integration within complex environments.
• A proven track record designing and delivering technology solutions across multiple platforms, applications and business domains.
• Strong knowledge of integration architecture and patterns, including API-led architecture, event-driven design, enterprise messaging and data integration.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based integration technologies and platforms.
• Experience with enterprise integration technologies such as MuleSoft, TIBCO, IBM App Connect Enterprise, IBM MQ or comparable platforms.
• Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite or a similar ERP integration framework.
• Experience working across large-scale transformation programmes and with distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Strong architectural judgement, with the ability to balance strategic direction with practical delivery considerations.
