Job summary

IEX in Dublin, Ireland, seeks a Senior Systems Reliability Engineer to own operations of the trading platform and to design, build, and manage scalable systems.

You will develop tools for monitoring and automation, address incidents across the stack, and mentor the team on operational best practices in a fast-paced financial technology environment.

Qualifications

Job description

IEX is an exchange operator and technology company in capital markets. This Senior Systems Reliability Engineer role focuses on optimizing and automating processes and systems to improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability of IEX's trading platform, including real-time monitoring, incident management, and recovery responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Take technical responsibility for operations of the trading platform
• Participate in the engineering process designing, building, and managing systems
• Build tools to monitor and automate operational processes
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack including hardware, software, application, and network layers
• Contribute to change management and learning review processes, and mentor team on operational best practices

What You Need

• Automation experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tools
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Python, Bash, and Git
• Experience supporting large, complex, and distributed systems
• Host-side networking knowledge including TCP/IP stack, routing, and multicast
• Packet-level understanding of network traffic with hands-on troubleshooting experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with Java, C++, or Rust for coding and scripting
• Familiarity with Arista and Cisco network switches
• Knowledge of specialized networking hardware including Solarflare and Mellanox
• Experience in agile environments and regulated industry environments
• Interest in stock markets or financial markets

€150,000-€175,000 annual base pay, eligible for bonus and equity
