Job summary

IEX seeks a Network Engineer in Dublin to operate, maintain, and enhance our high‑performance network supporting trading platforms and the options exchange.

You will troubleshoot, configure switches/routers/firewalls from Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet, and contribute to capacity planning and performance tuning. The role expects a strong technical foundation with opportunities for growth and exposure to financial markets technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands‑on network engineering or network operations experience.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, STP, and routing and switching fundamentals.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, firewalls, and production network environments.
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to Python, Ansible, or other network automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot resilient, high‑performance network infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
• Support network deployments, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, packet loss, and network performance issues.
• Use scripting and automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or similar technologies to improve network operations.
• Work closely with Network Engineers, Data Center Engineers, SREs, vendors, and other teams to resolve issues and maintain reliable infrastructure.
• Provide operational coverage during the European morning to support IEX’s U.S. infrastructure and trading operations.
