Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Reliability Engineer to be based in Dublin. The role focuses on championing platform resilience, reducing manual overhead through automation, and owning real-time monitoring and incident response across a high-throughput distributed environment.

You will work across hardware, software, and network layers, implement robust reliability targets, and mentor teams to uphold top-tier SRE practices in a governed, performance-critical setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting complex, large-scale distributed production environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Linux, scripting in Python, Bash, and Ansible.
• Experience with source code management using Git.
• Strong low-level networking foundation, including host-side networking, TCP/IP, routing and multicast.
• Experience with network packet capture to troubleshoot traffic.
• Familiarity with data center operations and low-latency NICs (Solarflare, Mellanox).
• Experience with network monitoring and latency analytics platforms like Corvil.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical operations, performance, and uptime of mission-critical execution systems.
• Design, build, and deploy tools to monitor system health and automate workflows.
• Lead cross-stack troubleshooting across hardware, software, app layers, and networks.
• Contribute to incident management, root-cause analysis, change management, and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience supporting complex, large-scale distributed production environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Linux, alongside daily scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, and Ansible.
• Experience with source code management using Git.
• Strong low-level networking foundation, including host-side networking, TCP/IP stack internals, routing and multicast traffic.
• Working experience troubleshooting network traffic at the packet level using packet capture utilities.
• Practical knowledge of data center operations, enterprise server hardware and low-latency network cards (Solarflare, Mellanox).
• Hands-on familiarity with Arista and Cisco switch hardware and their respective CLIs.
• Experience with network monitoring and latency analytics platforms like Corvil.
• Beneficial background: Familiarity with compiled systems languages (Java, C++, or Rust), agile delivery frameworks, or performance tuning in regulated environments.
