Job summary

Moofwd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems / Platform Engineer to join a major technology transformation in a global FinTech/payments environment.

You will own the Build through Run lifecycle, focusing on platform engineering, automation, production readiness and global deployment. You will partner with Software Engineering, Network, Infrastructure, Security and Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure at global scale.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy and operate the platform across global sites.
• Develop and enhance Ansible automation for deployment, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with Software Engineers to ensure production readiness and operational scalability.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and automation-first engineering for faster, repeatable deployments.
• Lead large-scale global deployments, upgrades, rollouts and maintenance activities.
• Engineer solutions for high availability, resilience, security and performance.
• Provide senior-level production support within a 24x7 global operating environment, including incident response and RCA.
• Develop automated monitoring, observability and remediation to preempt issues.
• Establish technical standards, runbooks and production-readiness requirements.
• Work with Network, Security, Cloud and Infra teams to deliver secure end-to-end solutions.
• Identify recurring issues and implement permanent engineering fixes via automation.
• Mentor engineers and serve as a senior escalation point for complex platform problems.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Systems / Platform Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join a major multi-year technology transformation program within a global FinTech and payments environment.

Golang-based proxy platform and Ansible automation framework, which will be deployed and operated across globally with a 24x7 production support model.

This is a senior engineering role spanning Build and Run, with a strong focus on platform engineering, automation, production readiness, global deployment and operational resilience. You will work closely with Software Engineering, Network, Infrastructure, Security and Operations teams to take the platform from engineering through production and operate it reliably at global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy and operate the across global sites.
• Develop and enhance Ansible automation for deployment, configuration, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Partner with Software Engineers developing the Golang-based proxy platform to ensure production readiness and operational scalability.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and automation-first engineering, reducing manual intervention and improving deployment consistency.
• Lead large-scale global deployments, upgrades, rollouts and maintenance activities.
• Engineer solutions for high availability, resilience, scalability, security and performance.
• Provide senior-level production support within a 24x7 global operating environment, including incident response, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Develop automated monitoring, observability and remediation capabilities to proactively identify and resolve platform issues.
• Establish technical standards, deployment patterns, operational runbooks and production-readiness requirements.
• Work closely with Network, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure and Software Engineering teams to deliver secure end-to-end solutions.
• Identify recurring operational issues and drive permanent engineering solutions through automation and platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and act as a senior technical escalation point for complex platform issues.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, SRE or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based enterprise platforms in large-scale production environments.
• Advanced experience with Ansible, configuration management and infrastructure automation.
• Strong scripting and automation skills; experience with Golang is highly desirable.
• Experience deploying and operating large-scale, globally distributed infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of networking, proxy technologies, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing and secure connectivity.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and modern software/platform engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code, automation and repeatable deployment patterns.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, observability and automated remediation.
• Strong production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience designing and supporting platforms for high availability, scalability, resilience and disaster recovery.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, vulnerability management, access controls and secure engineering practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, Security and Operations teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Golang, Ansible at enterprise scale, proxy platforms, network infrastructure, Cloud technologies, containerization and large-scale global deployment automation would be advantageous.

This role is suited to a senior individual contributor who combines deep systems engineering expertise with an automation-first mindset and has experience taking complex platforms from Build through Run in large-scale production environments.

• Candidates must have a payments industry background, with experience in payments technology, FinTech, financial services, banking, or a closely related payments environment.
• Candidates must be currently based in the Republic of Ireland.
