Job summary

Autism A Chara in Bray seeks a Senior Supervisor to lead care teams supporting adults with autism across residential, respite, and day services. The role requires guiding staff, managing rotas, and chairing meetings with emphasis on person-centered planning.

Applicants should have a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or similar, with at least one year of relevant supervisory experience, and a full driving license. This is a full-time permanent post with rota shifts.

  • Experience supervising a team and managing rotas.
  • Ability to chair meetings and lead teams with empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with autism across residential, respite, day services.
  • Lead and supervise staff, manage rosters and meetings.
  • Deliver care per individual care plans and PCP.
  • Communicate effectively with service users and families.

Recently we have decided to make the significant change to operate as a solely run, Irish charity independent of the UK. Although this partnership has come to an end, we are delighted with what we have achieved so far and we are very excited at what the future holds for Autism A Chara.We will continue to provide specialist autism services for adults across our Residential, Respite, Day, and Com

39 hours per week – Permanent Contract

Qualifications required:

Social Care/ Studies or Relevant 3rd Level Qualification at degree level i.e.; Social Work, Psychology is essential, (or relevant qualification received outside the state recognised by NARIC equivalent to Irish level 8).

Skills/Abilities required of a Senior Supervisor

  • At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
  • Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
  • Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
  • Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills
  • Experience at a similar level with responsibility for supervising/managing a team
  • Proven experience in managing team rota
  • Experience of leading/chairing meetings
  • Full, manual drivers licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
  • Permission to work in Ireland essential

Schedule
