Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead steel design and connections for major building and infrastructure projects in Newbridge, Ireland. You will work within the in‑house structural steel team, ensuring designs are safe, compliant with Eurocode and project specs, and coordinated with fabrication and site delivery.

The role requires deep technical steel experience, plus the ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Chartered status or path toward chartership preferred.
• 3–5 years’ solid structural steel design experience (steel connections).
• Knowledge of Eurocode 3, BS5950 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of steel structures and connections for major projects.
• Verify designs with calculations, drawings, and 3D models.
• Coordinate with fabrication and site teams for delivery.
• Oversee design deliverables through checks and reviews.
• Support junior engineers with guidance and review.
