Global Professional Consultants in Galway is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years’ experience to join a leading Irish engineering consultancy operating across Ireland and Europe. The role offers leadership of an established team and a clear path for career progression.

You will work on industrial, commercial and residential projects, design to Eurocodes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand scope, deadlines, and resources.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a consultancy.
Level 8 or Level 9 Degree in Structural Engineering.
Chartered or near Chartership with Engineers Ireland or ISTRUCTE.
Experience designing reinforced concrete and structural steel to Eurocodes.
Strong reporting and project delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Engineers and Designers and oversee the preparation of structural packages for tender and construction.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to define scope, deliverables, timelines and resources.
Monitor project progress and manage hours allocated to the structural scope.
Prepare and deliver technical reports.

Responsibilities

Project Experience: Work across a wide range of structural engineering projects, with experience in industrial, commercial and residential.
Team Leadership: Manage a team of Engineers and Designers, overseeing the preparation of structural packages for tender and construction.
Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to understand project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
Project Management: Monitor project progress, provide regular updates, and maintain control of resources and hours allocated to the structural scope.

Requirements

Level 8 or Level 9 Degree in Structural Engineering.
10 years’ experience working as a Structural Engineer within a consultancy environment.
Strong experience in the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel to Eurocodes.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and materials, including concrete and steel.
Ideally Chartered or close to Chartership with Engineers Ireland or ISTRUCTE
Experience preparing and delivering technical reports.
Experience managing structural engineering projects.Strong communication and team management skills.
