Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Ireland to lead structural design for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber buildings. You will deliver calculations, produce drawings, and support projects from concept to construction while coordinating with architects, clients, and contractors.

This full-time on-site role requires a degree in structural engineering, at least five years in a consultancy, and strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consultancy.
• Experience with structural analysis software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot, or similar).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
• Strong communication and project coordination abilities.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle.
• Currently based in Ireland, eligible to work, and available for full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber buildings.
• Complete structural calculations and prepare technical reports.
• Design foundations, beams, columns, retaining walls, and other elements.
• Produce drawings and detailed specifications.
• Collaborate with architects to integrate designs.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities.
• Conduct site inspections throughout construction.
• Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and BCAR standards.
• Support projects through concept, planning, tender, and build phases
• Work on schools, commercial facilities, industrial buildings, refurbishments, and extensions.
