Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a growing Dublin team, taking responsibility from initial design through to construction and site supervision. The role demands autonomous work, strong Eurocode knowledge, and close collaboration with clients, contractors and design teams.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2-5 years' relevant Structural Engineering experience.
• Chartered Engineer or currently working towards Chartered status preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
• Advanced AutoCAD experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of construction methods and structural materials.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Good project management and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for project delivery.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, adaptable approach.
• Willingness to undertake site inspections and work closely with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary structural design options for review and approval.
• Produce structural design calculations and drawings in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
• Develop structural solutions that are safe, economical and practical.
• Review structural drawings and designs produced by internal and external design teams.
• Carry out site inspections and monitor construction quality and workmanship.
• Inspect steel reinforcement prior to concrete pours and oversee general structural works on site.
• Provide technical support and resolve structural issues during the construction phase.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Manage project responsibilities from detailed design through to construction.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the wider structural engineering team.

Job description
