Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking an experienced SRE to lead reliability initiatives for large-scale, internet-facing services. The role focuses on designing automated, observable, AI-powered operations to prevent incidents and reduce toil across global systems.

You will drive incident management, implement self-healing platforms, and collaborate with product teams to define SLAs/SLOs while mentoring junior engineers in best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems and software engineering for large-scale, internet-facing services.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, Linux/Unix internals, and internet architectures.
• Proven proficiency in Python and Go with strong software engineering practices (testing, CI/CD).
• Hands-on expertise with containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes) and workflow/orchestration engines (Temporal, Airflow, Argo Workflows).
• Production experience building and operating observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or similar).
• Solid background in incident management and SRE principles: on-call, root cause analysis, postmortems, SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, toil reduction.
• An AI-first approach to engineering, with experience applying AI/ML to operations and using AI tools in development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident detection, response, and resolution — driving root cause analysis, postmortems, and systemic fixes to ensure high uptime and rapid recovery.
• Independently drive the design and implementation of automation platforms and self‑healing systems using durable workflow engines (Temporal, Airflow, Argo Workflows).
• Architect production‑grade observability solutions — monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing — that enable proactive detection and autonomous remediation.
• Design and implement AI/ML‑powered operations tools, including anomaly detection, predictive analysis, intelligent runbook automation, and MCP‑based operational agents.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to define and uphold SLAs/SLOs, and coach junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and code reviews.
