Acuity Inc. in Cork (NYSE: AYI) is seeking a Software Squad Leader to guide a multidisciplinary Scrum team developing firmware, software controllers, and cloud-connected features for next-generation LED drivers and lighting control systems.

Based in our Cork office, you will blend hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, mentor engineers, collaborate with product owners and architects, and champion responsible use of AI to accelerate delivery without compromising security or quality.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of full-stack software development in embedded/IoT or hardware contexts.
• Strong proficiency in embedded C, C#/.NET, JavaScript and React.
• Experience with TCP, UDP, BLE, Thread and related protocols.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and Agile delivery.
• Understanding AI-assisted software engineering and code review.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical direction for firmware, backend and frontend components.
• Translate system architecture visions into executable plans and designs.
• Lead AI-assisted engineering adoption with review and validation.
• Contribute hands-on to software controllers and embedded firmware.
• Work with hardware for integration, debugging and validation.
• Mentor engineers and foster collaboration across Cork teams.
• Identify risks and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
