Job summary

Johnson Controls in Cork is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Engineering team on a Cork-based hybrid basis. You will design, build and maintain production-grade web applications exposing AI capabilities with clear, accessible interfaces.

You will implement front-end and back-end services using Blazor, React, C#, .NET, and Python, integrating with Azure OpenAI, RAG and enterprise APIs while upholding security and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with senior ownership.
• Strong hands-on web app development with C#, Razor/Blazor, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience designing REST APIs and integrating front ends with distributed back-ends.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack design, implementation, code reviews and testing.
• Build production-grade web apps exposing AI capabilities with responsive UX.
• Develop secure REST APIs and back-end services in C#/.NET and Python.
• Integrate applications with Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry and enterprise APIs.
• Ensure security, observability, performance and reliability in delivery.
• Collaborate with product owners and mentor engineers in practices.
