MSD in Dundalk is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead site-wide environmental, health and safety programmes at a state-of-the-art vaccines manufacturing facility. You will partner with site leadership, drive regulatory compliance, and embed a strong safety culture across operations.

The role offers visibility across projects, with responsibilities for risk assessments, training, and continuous improvement, plus interactions with regulators to ensure permits are met and standards are embedded

Competenze

• Significant EHS experience in pharma or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience developing site-wide EHS programmes and policies.
• Strong knowledge of environmental permits and regulatory compliance.
• Experience engaging with regulators and inspections.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results.

About the Role and Site

Join a state-of-the-art vaccines manufacturing facility in Dundalk and play a key role in shaping and embedding Environmental, Health & Safety standards across a growing operational site. As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will lead the implementation of site-wide EHS programmes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a strong safety culture. Acting as a trusted partner to site leadership and a deputy to the EHS Lead, you will have the opportunity to influence how EHS standards, systems, and behaviours are embedded across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who enjoys building programmes, driving change, engaging stakeholders, and making a visible impact across a complex manufacturing environment. • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety programmes across the site.
• Partner with site leadership and operational teams to embed a strong culture of safety, compliance, and risk awareness.
• Develop and implement EHS procedures, standards, training programmes, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support on environmental, health, safety, and compliance matters.
• Lead and support EHS risk assessments, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support interactions with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
• Drive programmes related to biosafety, environmental management, industrial hygiene, and Process Safety occupational health.
• Support management of change activities, ensuring EHS risks are identified and effectively controlled.
• Monitor EHS performance, identify trends, and develop improvement plans to reduce risk and strengthen compliance.
• Deliver training and coaching to employees, contractors, and site leadership teams.
• Act as a key EHS representative across site projects, operational activities, and cross-functional initiatives.

What Skills You Will Need

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant EHS experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programmes, policies, and site-wide compliance initiatives.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience engaging with environmental regulators and supporting inspections or permit management activities.
• Knowledge of biosafety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and risk management programmes is highly desirable.
• Experience conducting investigations, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into practical actions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while driving execution and results.
