Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Solutions Architect role within a world-leading bank’s Risk Technology team in Ireland. The selected candidate will design and document solutions for complex risk-related problems, enforce standards, and lead PoCs and R&D to validate feasibility.

You will collaborate with risk, compliance, and engineering teams, create clear diagrams and documentation, and guide technology selection, vendor evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in solution architecture or equivalent roles.
• Expertise in microservices design and containerized environments.
• Experience with high-volume ETL/data processing systems and polyglot data stores.
• Strong written and verbal communication; stakeholder management.

About Your New Job

• As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will design and document solutions to solve complex business problems within risk technology.
• You'll define and enforce architecture standards, coding best practices, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines, ensuring quality and security throughout.
• Drive innovation by developing Proof of Concept (PoC) projects and R&D initiatives, validating technical feasibility before implementation.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and engineering teams to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Create UML diagrams, Visio workflows, and clear technical documentation for audiences ranging from executives to developers and auditors.
• Guide technology selection, vendor evaluations, and conduct cost-benefit analyses for risk system investments.
• Mentor engineering teams on risk-aware design patterns, cloud security, and building resilient, future-proof architectures.

What Skills You Need

• Minimum 5+ years in solution architecture or equivalent technical roles.
• Expertise in microservices/SOA design, particularly in containerized environments.
• Experienced with high-volume ETL/data processing systems.
• Proven ability to design polyglot systems (RDBMS such as SQL Server/PostgreSQL, NoSQL like MongoDB).
• Strong background with RESTful/GraphQL APIs, async communication flows (Redis Streams, Kafka).
• Exceptional stakeholder management, diagramming (UML/Visio), and presentation skills. Ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
