Job summary

Elgin is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects in Ireland. You will own site origination, consenting, investment readiness and ready-to-build milestones, coordinating across land, planning, grid, commercial and technical workstreams.

You will manage budgets, due diligence, development contracts and stakeholder engagement while mentoring the development team and maintaining delivery continuity through construction

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in project development, planning, engineering, consultancy or related roles in renewables.
• Proven track record leading utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects through planning and grid connection to ready-to-build.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, financial modelling and contract negotiation.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams and work with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of complex, high-value projects through land acquisition, planning, grid connection and ready-to-build milestones.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, agents and legal advisers to secure land rights and commercial terms.
• Direct external consultants across planning, environmental, grid, engineering and legal workstreams.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to progress projects efficiently within budgets and timelines.
• Own development budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost control, reporting to senior management.
