Cpl Group is partnering with a leading organisation delivering a major transformation of its enterprise payroll and billing platforms. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own payroll and billing workflows in a high-volume environment, working with engineering and business stakeholders to optimise performance and reduce risk.

The role is a 6-month contract in Dublin with a hybrid model (2 days onsite per week).

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on C# and .NET development experience.
• Advanced SQL Server expertise, including: stored procedures, query optimisation, indexing, execution plans, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Own and support critical payroll and billing applications

This is an opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join a high-impact team focused on improving the resilience, performance, and scalability of business-critical financial systems.

This contract role would suit someone who enjoys working in complex enterprise environments, solving production challenges, optimising SQL-heavy systems, and driving technical improvements within established platforms.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of key payroll and billing workflows within a high-volume transactional environment. You'll work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to identify issues, optimise performance, reduce technical risk, and support future transformation initiatives.

This is a hands-on role combining production support, troubleshooting, system optimisation, technical documentation, and continuous improvement work.
