Cpl Group is seeking a Senior .NET Developer on a 6-month FTC to stabilise and modernise a high-volume payroll and billing platform. You will own production support, perform root cause analysis, and optimise SQL Server procedures while refactoring legacy components for future transformation.

The role focuses on C#/.NET (legacy and modern), SQL Server with heavy stored procedures, and Azure, with autonomous work across a complex financial system.

Qualifikationen

• 15+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong C# / .NET skills.
• Advanced SQL Server (stored procedures, indexing, execution plans, performance tuning).
• Experience in financial, payroll, billing, or high-volume transactional systems.
• Able to work autonomously with undocumented enterprise systems.

SENIOR .NET DEVELOPER - FTC

Our client is investing in a 6-month programme to strengthen and modernise its enterprise payroll and billing systems, and is hiring two senior contract engineers to take hands-on ownership of this high-volume, SQL-driven financial environment.

The role

You will own production support and rapid issue resolution, carry out root cause analysis, optimise SQL Server stored procedures, refactor and document legacy components, and help prepare the platform for future transformation. Expect mostly hands-on production work at the start, moving towards structured improvement over time.

Environment

C# and .NET (legacy and modern), SQL Server with heavy stored procedure logic, middleware and file-based integrations, and Azure.

Requirements

• 15+ years commercial software engineering experience
• Strong C# / .NET
• Advanced SQL Server (stored procedures, indexing, execution plans, performance tuning)
• Experience in financial, payroll, billing, or high-volume transactional systems
• Comfortable getting to grips with undocumented enterprise systems, and able to work autonomously
