Job summary

Workday, Inc. in Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Development Tools team and shape the next generation of Workday Developer Tools. You will help craft the development lifecycle for other developers building Workday products.

You will work in a hybrid remote model, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality software, with a focus on API design, microservices, and scalable systems in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, leading technical initiatives, designing complex systems, and ensuring the scalability and maintainability of software products
• 8+ years of Object Oriented and/or Functional Design and Programming (e.g.: Java, Javascript, Ruby, Scala, etc)
• Deep expertise and experience in API Development and designing, building and shipping microservices
• Experience working with automation, CI/CD or web testing software
• Demonstrated ability to deliver on time, working in a fast-paced agile environment
• Proven ability in writing technical design documents and collaborating within a software development team
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Test focused with good TDD / Unit & System Testing, debugging and profiling skills
• Curious and thoughtful on how to leverage cutting-edge technologies to reduce friction and improve Development Lifecycle productivity
• Experienced with common IDEs, build & CI/CD tooling (e.g. IntelliJ, Git, Gradle, maven, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory)
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP), containerization technologies (e.g. Docker), and data engineering pipelines (e.g. ETL). Good code review skills and capacity to both provide and act on constructive feedback
