Job summary

Bentley Systems in Dublin, Ireland, seeks a senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer to drive rapid prototyping, architectural de-risking, and tactical engineering initiatives within the global Product & Technology organization.

You will collaborate with leadership including the CTO and architects on short-cycle strategic initiatives, tackling complex challenges across full stack and cloud environments, and delivering validated PoCs to core product teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering high‑performance software.
• Able to work autonomously and take ownership of complex initiatives.
• Fluency across multiple languages (C#, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C++).
• Experience with AI APIs, vector retrieval/RAG patterns, and AI tooling integration.
• Familiar with distributed systems, multi‑tenant patterns, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Full‑Spectrum Problem Solving: navigate varied technical domains and project needs.
• De‑Risk Architecture: prototype PoCs to validate performance and bid technology choices.
• Operate Across the Stack & Cloud: work across languages and major cloud platforms to deliver solutions.
• Ensure Frictionless Hand‑offs: package architectures and hand off to P&T teams for future work.
