Job summary

LoyalBe is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver full-stack software in a fast-growing fintech/martech environment. You’ll work across technologies like TypeScript, NestJS, React, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating closely with the product and growth teams.

You’ll help shape scalable APIs, core features, and performance improvements, with autonomy and impact in a scaleup. Equity and competitive salary are negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven software engineering experience.
• Knowledge of at least one high level language (TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, etc.).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment.
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Understanding of SDLC from analysis to production deployment.

Role overview

We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver exceptional software. The role is full-stack and will require flexibility and a start-up mentality (see Disclaimer below!). You might be working on a new feature for our react dashboard one day, integrating with new bank APIs the next, and writing infrastructure-as-code the following day.

You will be one of the early engineers to join us at this level, and depending on your interests, you’ll contribute to various efforts from raising the bar in terms of best practices to the hiring and growth of the engineering team. You’ll join a passionate and innovative team reshaping how brands and consumers connect through payment-linked loyalty. You’ll have autonomy, impact, and the opportunity to help define the direction of a growing scaleup.

Ideal candidate

We're looking for someone who gets excited by solving new challenges and learning new things along the way. You're a self-starter and you like to be hands-on (i.e. write code) but also want to help steer the direction of the technology forward.

We need someone who works well with uncertainty, frequent changes to product specifications and who can move fast. Salary and equity are competitive and are negotiable depending on experience.

What you'll do

• Write well-designed, testable code (this will be most of your day)
• Design and build APIs for use with our web app and partners
• Build systems at scale, learn new technologies and share knowledge
• Solve technical challenges with good coding practices while being conscious of functionality and robustness
• Develop a deep understanding of our entire tech stack
• Fully own the design and development of multiple features

Our tech stack (experience of two or more of the below is a must)

• TypeScript + NestJS (Backend Services)
• React (Frontend Web Dashboard)

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or SSE (3+ years experience)
• Knowledge of at least one high level programming language (Java, Javascript, C#, C++ or similar)
• Knowledge of relational databases (we use MySQL - general SQL experience required)
• Knowledge and experience with CI/CD
• Experience of applying development best practices and patterns in relation to security, scalability and performance
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platform provider
• You should be very familiar with the SDLC from preliminary analysis to tests and production deployment
