Job summary

NNIT is seeking a Senior Smart Factory Engineering Consultant to lead automation and control system programs in Limerick. You will design, specify, program, simulate, test and support start-up, working with internal teams, vendors and OEMs to deliver best-in-class solutions.

The role requires strong GMP experience in pharma/biotech or medical devices, leadership capability, and a track record of delivering complex automation projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley automation systems and related controls.
• Experience with validation of automated processes in pharma/medical devices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, programming, simulation, testing and startup support for automation and control systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and OEMs to deliver optimal vendor-packaged solutions.
• Lead or senior engineer responsibilities including project delivery on time and budget, resource allocation, and team leadership.

Senior Smart Factory Engineering Consultant

• Limerick
• Onsite role with limited remote working possible - Please only apply if you are currently based or happy to be be based within a reasonable commute of the Limerick site as the role will not offer significant remote working.

Role Brief

The successfulcandidate will be responsible for automation and control systemsdesign, specification, programming, simulation, testing and start-up assistance.

You will act as a subjectmatter expert. You willbe required to work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors and OEMs todeliver the optimum solution for the client in a vendor package capacity.

The candidate must possess and combination of strong project managementskills, leadership skills and the technical expertise to maintain, develop,troubleshoot and validate a range of automation systems in a compliant manner.

Skills Brief

• The candidate must have experience with Rockwell / Allen Bradley automation systems
• Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
• Experience in thevalidationofautomated processesfor medical devices or pharmaceuticals
• Expertise in the development, improvement, and implementation ofassembly automationsolutions, robotics, and complex machine controls
• Strong high volume manufacturing industry experience
• The candidate must have strong GMP environment experience in Pharma, Biotech or Medical Devices
• Lead or senior engineer experience with exposure to designing complex automation solutions, managing internal and external stakeholders, delivering projects and solutions on time and on budget, and driving team performance and allocating engineering resources to meet client requirements
• Authoring or updatingsystem specifications, user and functional requirements specifications,generating and executing vital Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and (SiteAcceptance Testing) SAT protocols

Proven experiencein PLC logic and programming with one or more of the following PLC’s is required:

HMI or SCADA programming

programming and configuration of the following software packages:

• RS View
• Ignition
• Siemens

Specific Skills

• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Some knowledge of C/C++/C#, VB, SQL, Java, Delta V
• Knowledge of network services that include LAN, WAN, WLAN, MPLS, SSL, VPN, remote access services and network monitoring services.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to take ownership of projects.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
