Job summary

Pivotal Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Site Engineer for a permanent role in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. You will lead setting out, technical coordination, quality control and site delivery on a major construction project.

The role requires at least 5 years in a site engineering position, a Civil Engineering degree, and strong coordination with project teams, subcontractors and consultants. You will report to the Project Manager and work on site with a focus on safety and programme adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer role within construction.
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Previous experience with a main contractor.
• Strong setting out and technical coordination experience.
• Experience delivering construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, standards and regulations.
• Good understanding of BCAR and quality requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors and site teams.
• Independent and team-working capability.
• Proactive approach to site delivery and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate site records, drawings and technical documentation.
• Carry out setting out and ensure works follow drawings and specifications.
• Interpret and communicate complex plans, drawings and technical specifications to site teams.
• Manage, monitor and coordinate site works in line with contract documents.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, architects, planners and the wider project team.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractor works and direct labour.
• Organise site logistics and plant to maximise efficiency.
• Oversee quality control, BCAR compliance and Health & Safety requirements.
• Conduct regular site and safety checks to ensure compliance.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-based issues promptly.
• Plan and coordinate works to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Work with Project Manager and Site Management team to monitor progress.
• Ensure works meet required quality, specification and safety standards.
