Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Lead, Security Engineer in Ireland to lead engineering and operation of enterprise security platforms across the organization. You will design, implement and govern security controls with a hands-on approach across SSE/SASE, IPS, vulnerability management and cloud protections.

You will collaborate with engineering, risk, audit and data teams to ensure compliance, incident readiness and scalable security operations for a global wealth and asset management

Qualifications

• 12+ years in information technology, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering with enterprise-scale security experience.
• Hands-on experience with SSE/SASE platforms including ZTNA, secure web gateway, segmentation and APi/connector architecture.
• Experience integrating security tools with ServiceNow, SIEM platforms and enterprise reporting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and operate security tools spanning zero-trust, SASE/SSE, network, vulnerability & exposure management, AI guardrails, and SaaS.
• Develop maturity models and metrics to measure assurance and compliance.
• Define and publish metrics on coverage, control effectiveness, SLA adherence, tool health and risk reduction.
• Support audits and regulatory exams by ensuring controls are designed for evidence quality and traceability.
